| Purpose |
|
The 15th International AsiaTEFL Conference is, in general, designed to pull together a number of current and critical issues for TEFL researchers, policy makers and practitioners. They work with the complexity of making significant change in TEFL policies, beliefs and practices to improve the TEFL effectiveness for all students in this post-colonial and post-modern era. They also encourage EFL teachers to adjust to changing contexts over time with the focus of serving their students. In this connection, the conference will provide them with ample opportunity to share their experiences and expertise. In particular, this conference is designed to share and examine contemporary conceptions of language learning and teaching and of their change over time leading an awareness of the need to build language learning and teaching theories with a new paradigm.
The 15th International AsiaTEFL conference is designed to provide a forum for EFL teaching and learning researchers, policy makers and practitioners to assemble in the spirit of “learning and growing together” to:
- engage in an informed, critical and insightful dialogue about enhancing learning for all students in all settings in all countries, a dialogue about what works, how it works, what it takes to make things work, and how to develop thereon a new understanding of the nature of EFL teaching and learning.
- strengthen national and international EFL education networks to promote powerful research about TEFL effectiveness, TEFL improvement and innovation and to engage EFL learning and teaching researchers, policy makers and practitioners in ongoing conversations about the interpretation and the application of research in practice.
- critically examine the strengths and weaknesses of different theoretical paradigms of language learning and to explore how different conceptions frame and influence the whole business of TEFL, especially in a global, knowledge-based, technologically wired context.

The Conference |
Those whose presentation proposals have been accepted are required to pay their conference registration fee by May 31, 2017 as confirmation of their intention to present. Otherwise, their presentations will be cancelled.
Abstract Submission
Abstracts (200-250 words long) of the proposed presentations should be submitted online together with a 60-word biodata by completing the form available in the conference website: http://asiatefl2017.uny.ac.id.

Paper Submission to the AsiaTEFL Conference Proceedings
AsiaTEFL Proceedings will be accepting paper submissions from conference presenters at the 2017 AsiaTEFL International Conference. Contents of the papers submitted must be consistent with the contents of the presenter's conference presentation. Submitted papers will be reviewed by Proceedings reviewers, and only accepted papers will be published. The deadline for submission of papers to the Proceedings is September 1, 2017 (after the conference). Papers will be submitted to prof. Yoon Hee Choi by email(asiatefl.proc@gmail). Detailed information for paper submission, such as paper length and formatting guidelines, will be available at the AsiaTEFL website (http://www.asiatefl.org).
