Over 1,000 proposals to
AsiaTEFL Conference 2005!
(2005.6.24) Asia TEFL
President Hyo-Woong Lee announced to the membership today that over
1,000 conference presentation presentations proposals were submitted to
the organizers of the third Asia TEFL conference, to be held in Beijing
November 4-6, 2005.
Based on the high number of quality submissions, Asia TEFL
executives held emergency discussions to find ways to present as many
quality sessions as possible. The number of submissions is
approximately triple that received for the 2004 conference.
"I am very sorry to inform you that only about 450
proposals were accepted because of the limited number of the concurrent
session rooms in the hotel," President Lee stated. This number of
sessions to be scheduled is nearly double that of last year.
Emails informing applicants of acceptance have been sent,
these prospective presenters are reminded to confirm with conference
organizers as soon as possible or risk losing their opportunity to
present.
Globally recongnized speakers for the event include Bernard Spolsky (Bar-Ilan
Univ.), David Nunan (Univ. of Hong Kong), Huizhong Yang (Shanghai
Jiaotong University), Richard Day (University of Hawaii), Claire
Kramsch (UC Berkeley), Donald Freeman (School for International
Training), Michael McCarthy (University of Nottingham), and many others.
