New Columns Announced
for Asia TEFL's NewsNET

Asia TEFL Publications Chair Dr. Bernard Spolsky and NewsNET Managing Editor Rob Dickey
announced today the commencement of speciality columns in the online
news-magazine Asia TEFL NewsNET.
"After many delays, we are
pleased to present to the membership the first of many columns to
come--the Language Testing column by
Dr. Soo
im Lee of Japan."
"Asia TEFL has oriented towards providing as many benefits
as possible to our members at no charge, such as free membership, free
members' online access to our journals,
and free access to our online-only NewsNET magazine. In order to
reduce costs to realize these aims, we have obtained free
website-hosting and volunteer
web-management... the only problem with such arrangements is that there
can be delays when technology goes wrong or volunteer support becomes
unavailable."
Dr. Thomas S.C. Farrell, formerly of Yonsei University in
Seoul and National Institute of Education in Singapore, will commence a
professional development column in September. Others interested
in presenting regular columns on topics of interest to English Language
Teaching professionals in Asia are encouraged to contact the Managing
