 Major Focus:
A refereed publication devoted to research concerned with the teaching and learning of English, especially in Asia contexts; publishes articles, research reports, discussion or position papers, and book reviews or dissertation notices.

Frequency of Publication:
Two big issues in 2004 and four issues per year from 2005.

Ownership:
The Journal of Asia TEFL is owned and copyrighted by the Asian Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language.

Reviewing Process:
Managing editor receives submissions and assigns each manuscript to an appropriate associate editor, who will be one of the readers and will also choose the other two readers (normally either an associate editor or an editorial board editor). The associate editor collects the reports of the three readers, and if they are satisfied that the article is publishable, the associate editor sends the article with the collected reports and recommendation to the managing editor for a final decision. The managing editor, after consultation with the editor-in-chief, supervises revision and preparation for production.
